< Biography >

  Seonghoon Ban studied material science, then interactive art and variable form displays at Graduate School of Culture Technology at KAIST. His interest is in installation of motion graphics works existing at the interface of material and space that incorporate the audience’s responses immediately into the works themselves. Using displays that change shape in reaction to the viewer’s gaze and position, he has produced media arts that express the audiences’ action s and peculiarities as a collection of emotions in the digital society. As an HCI(Human-Computer Interaction) researcher and artist, he is continually devising systems and interfaces that enable novel experiences and creative productions. He currently lectures at the School of Film, TV & Multimedia, Korea National University of Arts, and also operates art research studio RECON Labs Inc..
